PROVOLONE, BUFORD - DUMPCAKE
BROUGHT TO YOU BY LEAD GUITARIST, HARRY
Do you like midwest emo? Listen to Provolone, Buford. Do you like cool guitar riffs? Listen to Provolone, Buford. Do you like MUSIC?? LISTEN TO PROVOLONE, BUFORD. I will acknowledge my biases; I am friends with the members of the band and they are all wonderful people in their own right, and Matt (of Dumpcake) has done an exceptional job mixing Trampled Flowers as well as Undulate. Regardless of my biases, the technical skill, creatviity, and energy of Provolone, Buford cannot be denied. Matt's riffs punch like a boxer and twinkle like a clear night sky. April's basslines make a perfect compliment to the guitar rhythmically while also adding beautiful melodic fills. And the rhythym section is brought together by the incredibly wild and incredibly tight drumming of Kevin. Having a 3 piece band with such a "full" sound is frustratingly difficult at best, but Dumpcake makes it look effortless with every track on this album. Provolone, Buford is midwest emo at its finest. Sick riffs, vocals and lyrics you can't help but shout to, and songs that are short, sweet, and catchy. The tracks transition into each other seamlessly, but they all have unique identities and personalities that play into the themes of the album. It's a unique sonic variety that can range from headbanging and crazy to soft and vulnerable. I can't say it enough: Listen to Provolone, Buford.
